Our history, their legacy

🎼 Our history, their legacy

The Kecoughtan High School Band has been a proud part of the Hampton community for generations. With band students documented at Kecoughtan as far back as the 1960s, the program has built a tradition of musical excellence, leadership, teamwork, and Warrior pride.

Behind that tradition are generations of parents and families who have volunteered their time and talents to support Kecoughtan musicians.

The Kecoughtan High School Band Parents Association became a federally recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in December 1993, formalizing the efforts of parents and community members dedicated to supporting the band program.

One of the Association's proudest traditions is the Warrior Classic Marching Band Competition. For more than three decades, the Warrior Classic has brought marching bands, students, families, and music lovers from across the region to Hampton's Darling Stadium.

Over the years, Kecoughtan musicians have performed on local, regional, and national stages, including the National Memorial Day Parade in Washington, D.C. The band has also earned numerous Superior and Excellent ratings and Virginia Honor Band recognition.

Today, the Kecoughtan High School Band Parents Association continues the tradition of supporting our students through fundraising, volunteering, events, competitions, scholarships, equipment and program support, and countless behind-the-scenes efforts that help make the band experience possible.

A Tradition of Music, Family & Community

More than just dates and accomplishments.

It is the parents who showed up.

The volunteers who stayed late.

The families who cheered from the stands.

The directors who inspired students.

And the generations of young musicians who proudly wore Kecoughtan green and white.

We are proud to honor those who built this tradition, support those carrying it forward today, and help ensure that the music continues for generations to come.

Supporting the Music. Supporting the Students. Supporting the Tradition.
